Review:

Casablanca was created as a category A movie, with famous actors and first-rate writers, but nobody hoped to get extraordinary results. First impressions have brought high quality of course, but not a great success. The film was considered to be just one of dozens that were "stamped" by Hollywood each year. The film was quickly released to take advantage of resonance around the Casablanca Conference and the landing of Allied troops in North Africa, held a few weeks before the premiere of the film.

Despite repeated replacement of the writers who tried to adapt the movie for the big screen, "Casablanca" won three Oscars, including "Best Picture". Characters, dialogue and music were among the most popular ones for Americans, and the popularity of the movie has grown to such an extent that today it is often called among the best films in Hollywood history.

The main character of the film is Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) - a bitterly disappointed cynical American, the owner of the cafe "Rick's Americain". Rick, who looked indifferent to all political events first, appears to be a smuggler of arms to Ethiopia, where he has struggled against the Italian aggression in 1935, and participated in the Spanish Civil War on the side of Republicans.
